Ding-ding-ding!
Now entering the ring, weighing in at a total of 1,205 pounds, Raiders defensive linemen Justin Ellis, Joby Saint Fleur, and offensive linemen Jylan Ware, and Jon Feliciano – excuse my poor impersonation of a WWE ringside commentator.
Earlier this week, the four members of the Silver and Black were invited by the WWE's Talent Development team to come witness NXT up close and personal at Wednesday's NXT taping at Full Sail University. Prior to the match, however, the foursome had the opportunity to meet one of WWE's biggest stars, WWE COO Triple H.
Ware, who is an outspoken fan of the WWE, took to Twitter to express how much the day meant to him.
Feliciano also took a moment to share what it was like interacting with WWE professionals.
"I grew up watching 'Stone Cold' and The Rock and idolizing those guys," he said. "Honestly, just being here is a dream come true."
The partnership with the NFL's offseason Player Engagement program was orchestrated to present the players with opportunities in WWE and NXT. Thursday, Ware, Feliciano, and Saint Fleur continued their tour of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. They met several superstars along the way, like the aforementioned Triple H, and Shawn Michaels.
Should Ware, Feliciano, Ellis, or Saint Fleur decide to join the professional wrestling world at some point in their lives, they wouldn't be the first NFL players to do so (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Terry Crews, Bill Goldberg). In the meantime, they'll continue preparing for next season.
