Team Notes
The Raiders improved to 2-4 with a 26-23 overtime victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars at O.co Coliseum on Sunday, Oct. 21.
The victory was the fourth straight overtime win for the Raiders and first since a 16-13 triumph at Kansas City on Dec. 24, 2011.
The Raiders' last overtime win at home came against the Chiefs on Nov. 7, 2010.
Coupled with the Raiders' win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 23, Oakland has posted back-to-back wins at home for the first time since the 2010 season.
The win was the first by the Raiders over Jacksonville since a 17-3 victory in the first meeting between the two teams on Sept. 15, 1996.
The Raiders evened the all-time franchise record in overtime games at 18-18.
Individual Notes
K Sebastian Janikowski kicked a game-winning 40-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Raiders to their second win of the season. It was Janikowski's second game-winning field goal this season, following a 43-yarder against Pittsburgh on Sept. 23, and the 13th game-winner of his career.
Janikowski missed a 64-yard field-goal attempt the end of regulation, snapping a streak of 19 straight successful attempts. He hit field goals of 21, 33 and 31 yards before his miss, and his game-winner was good from 40 yards out.
Janikowski is now 14-for-15 on field goal attempts this season, and has hit 39 straight field goals from less than 40 yards.
QB Carson Palmer completed 26-of-46 pass attempts for 298 yards and one touchdown. His attempts total tied his second-most as a Raider (Sept. 16 at Mia.).
Palmer scored on a 1-yard dive in the fourth quarter, marking Palmer's seventh rushing touchdown of his career. It was the fourth time in his career in which he accounted for a passing touchdown and rushing touchdown in the same game. The last time he accomplished the feat was Nov. 20, 2011 at Minnesota.
CB Joselio Hanson recovered a fumble in the overtime period, setting up the Raiders' game-winning field goal. It was the second fumble recovery of the campaign for Hanson, who has recovered a fumble in six consecutive seasons.
Hanson's fumble recovery was his second takeaway in two weeks, following an interception at Atlanta last week.
DT Richard Seymour made his 50th start as a Raider. Seymour, who was acquired via trade prior to the 2009 season, played in his 50th game with the Silver and Black last week at Atlanta.
Seymour recorded his second sack of the season, getting to QB Chad Henne for a 10-yard loss during the overtime period.
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey hauled in a 59-yard first-quarter completion to set up a field goal. It marked the longest reception of the season for Heyward-Bey, and his longest since a 69-yard touchdown catch against Seattle on Oct. 31, 2010.
RB Mike Goodson had a 45-yard kickoff return in the first quarter, marking his second-longest of the season. Goodson had a career-high 51-yard kickoff return against Pittsburgh in Week 3.
Rookie LB Miles Burris recorded his first career sack, getting to Jaguars QB Chad Henne for a 10-yard loss in the third quarter. He also provided a quarterback pressure, forcing Henne to throw an incomplete pass on fourth-and-one play late in the second quarter to turn the ball over on downs.
FB Owen Schmitt had his first rushing attempt of the season, rushing for 2-yards and a first down on a third-and-one play, sustaining a late second-quarter drive that resulted in a 33-yard field goal.
WR Denarius Moore recorded a touchdown reception for the second straight game with an 8-yard catch and run on a pass from QB Carson Palmer. It was the third touchdown catch of the season for Moore and the eighth of his career. It also marked the first time in Moore's career that he has notched touchdown receptions in consecutive games. Moore has recorded touchdown catches in three of his last four contests.
Moore played a key role in the Raiders' third-quarter touchdown drive, drawing a 33-yard pass interference call on Jaguars CB Rashean Mathis that set up his 8-yard touchdown reception.
DE Lamarr Houston recorded his first sack of the season on a third-and-seven play, forcing the Jaguars to attempt a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. It was Houston's seventh career sack and first since Oct. 16, 2011 against Cleveland.
Houston recorded two tackles for loss and forced a fumble early in the overtime period that proved to be the game-winning turnover. Houston's last forced fumble was against the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 31, 2010. It was the second forced fumble of his career.
FB Marcel Reece had a 35-yard catch-and-run from QB Carson Palmer on a fourth-quarter drive, marking a season-long reception for the fullback.
TE Brandon Myers set a career high with seven receptions for 44 yards, topping his previous best of six catches set at Miami on Sept. 16. Myers increased his team-leading receptions total to 28.
Three of Myers' receptions came in the fourth quarter, increasing his fourth-quarter receptions total to 15 on the season.
Rookie WR Rod Streater recorded two receptions for 41 yards, including a career-long 23-yard catch.
DT Tommy Kelly made his 70th straight start on the defensive line for the Raiders, dating back to the 2008 season opener against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 8, 2008.
Inactive for the game were QB Terrelle Pryor, RB Taiwan Jones CB Shawntae Spencer, T Khalif Barnes, OL Lucas Nix, TE Richard Gordon and DE Jack Crawford.
