The Oakland Raiders and the Jacksonville Jaguars will meet for the seventh time overall. The Silver and Black are hosting the newly redesigned Jaguars for the second-straight year, and look to add momentum after a 26-23 overtime win against the Jags in 2012.
1990s
In the two teams' first meeting, Sunday September 15, 1996, the Raiders beat the Jaguars 17-3. WR Tim Brown caught five passes for 60 yards and a TD and DT Jerry Ball intercepted a pass and returned it 66 yards for a TD.
The Raiders lost to the Jaguars 20-9 at home in 1997. WR Tim Brown caught a team- record 14 passes for 164 yards, RB Napoleon Kaufman had 94 rushing yards and QB Jeff George threw for 244 yards and a TD.
2000s
Oakland hosted Jacksonville on Sunday, January 2, 2005, Week 17 of the 2004 season, and lost 13-6. RB Zack Crockett rushed 21 times for 134 yards.
The Raiders struggled against the Jaguars at Jacksonville in 2007, losing 49-11. RB Dominic Rhodes rushed 27 times for 115 yards and LB Thomas Howard led the team with seven tackles.
2010s
The Raiders last faced the Jaguars in Jacksonville on December 12, 2010. Oakland fell to the Jaguars 38-31. RB Darren McFadden recorded 209 all-purpose yards (123 rushing, 86 receiving) and scored three touchdowns. SS Mike Mitchell had an interception and SS Tyvon Branch led the team with six tackles.
Last season the Raiders topped the Jaguars 26-23 in overtime in Oakland. DE Lamarr Houston caused a fumble, which was recovered by CB Joselio Hanson. That play set up the game-winning K Sebastian Janikowski 40-yard field goal.
