QB Jason Campbell
ON INTERCEPTION IN FIRST HALF
I was going to throw the ball outside, I started running around trying to make a play; one of them I've just go to throw it out of bounds. I was going to throw it out of bounds but I kind of lost control of it a bit as I was throwing it. So it was just one of those things that happened, I'm not happy it happened at all. I try to pride myself on taking care of the football and putting the team in a good position to win and unfortunately I didn't do that. We had a receiver coming on the back line but it's one of those where I just wanted to throw it away and it's like once you get caught in the middle of throwing it and trying to take something off of it, it kind of just lobbed out of my hands for an interception and it's definitely a tough decision. I was going to throw it over his head and out of bounds. I lost control of it a bit because I made an indecision at the time.
ON THE GAME
They did the little things different; they dropped more than they have in the first three games. They were dropping seven, eight people at times, back into pass coverage. The only thing we try to do is continue to keep trying to deliberately move the ball down the field, take it play for play, one play at a time. They were not trying to give up the big play; that's one of the emphases they talked about coming into the game, about not letting the ball go over their head. So they were trying to do their best not to give up the big play. I started out fast, came out of the gates ready to play, and unfortunately the bonehead mistake, the interception, you know, it cost us, it cost our team. It's something I don't usually do and it's unfortunate that happened at that point. I think it kind of steered the momentum; we were pretty much going tit for tat, they score we score. So when you're playing a team like New England that's an offensive juggernaut, you can't have those mistakes in the red zone like that.
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
ON THE GAME
It was a tough loss, getting the win is key. I know some people will say we did well on offense, but we didn't score more than the other team so it is disappointing.
ON MOVING FORWARD
We just need to get back to work and work on fixing the little things. When we get down to the red zone, we need to punch it in from an offensive standpoint. We just need to finish on all three levels of the game, offense, defense and special teams.
WR Jacoby Ford
ON THE GAME
Disappointment, that's pretty much the only thing you can say. We didn't come out and execute the way that we needed to, but we are a team so we are going to turn it around and get it together.
ON FIRST GAME BACK
I felt fine. I felt like I was able to come in and do everything they asked me to do. I went out and didn't aggravate it so that's a good sign on my part.
DE Jarvis Moss
ON THE GAME
I thought it was a good game. I thought it was two good football teams out there. They made some plays on us and I feel like we kind of hurt ourselves with penalties as a team. We kind of helped them out with our penalties, but credit is due to them where it is needed. They are a good team and they made a few more plays then we did today.
DT Richard Seymour
ON ROUGHING THE PASSSER PENALTY
Well, they said they called the whistle, but it was so loud I never heard the whistle, so I heard about that after. But still, that is no excuse as to what happened with the game. They just played better than we did. We couldn't get off the field on third down, and collectively, as a group, we just didn't do a good job. So we give them credit, they played better than we did today. We will watch the film and come back next week. It's still a long season. One game doesn't decide anything and we have said that all along. We have to get better as a team for sure.
ON LOSING TO HIS OLD TEAM
Obviously any game you face you want to win, our objective every week is to win, and when you don't get that done it's very disappointing, but you live to fight another day, were not going to hang our heads or say here we go again. We're going to keep fighting, keep plugging away, that's all I've got to say. It's a long season, and we need to get better as a team. It's still early in the season, we're 2-2, but 50-50 isn't going to get you anything in this league.
S Matt Giordano
ON THE GAME
Well, the Patriots won, the Raiders lost. We didn't execute and I know by looking at the film we are going to learn a lot and we're going to move forward and make better plays.
ON COVERING WES WELKER
He is probably one of the best receivers in the league right now. He's fast, he's elusive, and that just goes on the defense. We didn't execute our backend, there is no one to point fingers at other than us, so we will learn from this.
CB Chimdi Chekwa
ON THE PATRIOTS OFFENSE
It was football. We knew those guys were going to do everything. We knew Tom Brady was going to be able to throw the ball, we came up short and we tried, we just didn't get it this one.
ON LEARNING THE POSITION
This was a tough game for me, I feel I should have played a little bit better, but I'm working hard out there and hopefully I will get there next game.
LB Kamerion Wimbley
ON THE GAME
We didn't play well enough. I think we expect more of ourselves; obviously we have got to go back to the drawing board and get stuff corrected before our next game. So there are things we need to work on and we look forward to getting those things ironed out this week.
