Weeks 6 and 11 - Raiders vs. Chargers

  • Oakland leads the all-time series, 58-48-2.
  • The Raiders have played the Chargers 108 times in the regular season, more than any other opponent. The two teams have played each other twice in the regular season every year since 1960, including the strikeshortened 1982 season.
  • The two teams have split their last eight meetings dating back to 2010, during which each team has won three consecutive contests.
  • Last season, the teams split the season series, with each team winning on their home turf. The Raiders won the Oct. 6 contest, 27-17, at O.co Coliseum, while the Chargers won at Qualcomm Stadium, 26-13, on Dec. 22.
  • Raiders S Charles Woodson tied an NFL record by recording his 13th defensive TD in the Oct. 6 contest when he returned a fumble 25 yards for the score.
  • Raiders Head Coach Dennis Allen and Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy served on the same staff during the 2011 season with the Denver Broncos, as Allen served as the defensive coordinator and McCoy was the offensive coordinator.
  • Senior offensive assistant Al Saunders served as the head coach of the Chargers from 1986-88 after first serving as an assistant under head coach Don Coryell from 1983-86. Saunders was the youngest head coach in San Diego team history at 39 years of age.
