Redskins Wide Receiver Terrelle Pryor, Sr.
The Oakland Raiders are gearing up for their flight to Washington, D.C., and are inching closer to their showdown on primetime with the Washington Redskins. The Silver and Black are kicking off their first Sunday Night Football game of the 2017 season, and will be tasked with stopping a potent aerial offense behind the arm of Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Before the matchup gets underway, here's what the opponents are saying:
Head Coach Jay Gruden:
Gruden offered high praised for Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, and his leadership on offense.
"He's awesome. He's a great player. He has great command of the offense. He really has a great knack for giving receivers catchable balls. It looks like they're covered and he can drop the ball in buckets that not many people would throw, let alone complete. His receivers do a great of tracking it for him. I've just been impressed with his poise in the pocket. His command of the game, and obviously the results that he's had. I don't know what his record is over the last 18 games, I think it's like 15-3 or something like that. He's done a great job, man. Great quarterback."
He reflected on cornerback David Amerson's time with the Redskins, and how he's grown.
"He was a young player here. Did some great things here. He was a good corner at N.C. State. I got here and liked David a lot. We just ran into some things and we thought it was time for a change for him. I think it was a wakeup call for him. It's been a great change of scenery for him. I'm glad he's doing well because I think David is a great kid. Obviously, a very special talented football player."
Gruden shared his thoughts on facing running back Marshawn Lynch.
"It's actually fun and terrifying to watch him at the same time knowing you have to go against him. The way he runs is a great example for the young running backs we have. To watch him protect the ball and the physicality that he runs with, it's great for Samaje and Rob Kelley to watch this guy play. It motivates them."
He also spoke about second-year safety Karl Joseph and what he brings to the table.
"I like his versatility. He's a good blitzer from time to time. He and Reggie [Nelson] play good together. They feed off each other, you can tell. Both of them can play the post. They can play down at corners. They can both play in the box. They're both very versatile and do a very good job and they're both good, sound tacklers."
Tight End Vernon Davis:
**The 33-year-old discussed what makes the Raiders difficult on defense.

"They have really good edge rushers, and that's what they do, but we have to go out and compete like any other team we face."
Wide Receiver Terrelle Pryor, Sr.:
The former Raiders quarterback acknowledged the strength of edge defenders Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin.
"[Defensive end Khalil] Mack is a beast, let's not get it twisted, [Linebacker Bruce] Irvin is a beast, so we don't want to sell them short."
Pryor says playing his former team doesn't hold any extra significance.
"It doesn't mean anything to me, like every single week it's motivation. So many guys have been released and cut, and I'm obviously in a different position now, so it doesn't really matter to me. But to me every game is important to me."
