What to know
The Raiders will be looking to finish out their season strong, especially in their last road matchup of 2024.
"Look, we work 80 hours a week, the staff. The players come in here 40 plus hours to work. We don't do this to lose," Head Coach Antonio Pierce said. "We don't do this for anybody's fantasy football team. We don't do this for anybody's draft projections. None of that [expletive] matters to us. The only thing that matters is winning, and that's all we want to do."
Meanwhile, the Saints are coming off a shutout by the Green Bay Packers, 34-0, on Monday Night Football. Notably, the team's offense was without its top playmakers as Derek Carr (left hand/concussion), Alvin Kamara (groin), Chris Olave (head) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest/illness) were sidelined with injuries. Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler made his fourth start of the season – and first since Week 8 – in place of Carr and went 15-of-30 for 153 yards and one interception.
The Raiders could see the familiar face of Carr under center as, per the team's website, the quarterback is seeing some improvement and pushing to get back on the field after injuring his left hand and suffering a concussion in Week 14. This would be the first time the 11-year vet would face his former team. If Carr is again unable to go, Saints Interim Head Coach Darren Rizzi said Rattler will start again.
