"Could any of these rumors be true that the team might draft a CB? I've seen suggestions from analysts that the team could possibly go for Will Johnson from Michigan with their first pick."
I can't speak on the rumors regarding who the Raiders will select with their first-round pick. But what I will say is that I believe Will Johnson is one of, if not the top defensive prospect coming out of this year's draft.
He's played in a few big games in his collegiate career, including three CFB playoff games, and was part of the 2023 national champion University of Michigan team. In Johnson's 32 games played, he totaled nine career interceptions – three of those he returned for a touchdown. His speed and instincts played a pivotal role for the Wolverines as he locked down his side of the field.
While a valid argument can be made for Colorado's Travis Hunter being the top cornerback in this draft class, Johnson possesses prototypical NFL size at 6-foot-2 and weighing 15 more pounds than Hunter. If the Michigan cornerback is there at No. 6, some analysts might consider him not only the best player available, but a need for the Raiders defense as well.

Let's be honest, everyone is looking at Cam Skattebo after his season at Arizona State.
The running back help lead the Sun Devils to an 11-3 record and a Big 12 Championship in their first season in the conference. He led the Big 12 in rushing yards (1,711) while also racking up 25 total touchdowns and was the school's first player since 2016 to be named an AP First-Team All-American.
He left an exclamation mark on his season with his performance in the 2024 Peach Bowl against Texas. He totaled 271 yards (143 rushing, 86 receiving, 42 passing), two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown. Despite ASU losing 39-31 in double overtime, Skattebo was named the Peach Bowl's Offensive MVP – the first time the MVP was awarded to a member of the losing team in the bowl game's history.
As I mentioned last week, there's an immense amount of depth at running back in this draft class. While a general manager and head coach have yet to be named for the Raiders, Skattebo could find himself on their radar shortly.
