The Oakland Raiders squared off against the New York Jets Sunday at the Oakland-Alameda County for the team's home opener, and had a special guest light the Al Davis Memorial Torch. Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson grew up locally, graduated from Oakland Tech High School, and perfected his game in the Coliseum. Nicknamed "The Man of Steal", he is Major League Baseball's career leader in stolen bases and runs scored, and is widely regarded as baseball's top leadoff hitter and baserunner.

He grew up as a fan of the Silver and Black, and has been a fan ever since. He dreamed of playing for the Raiders as a kid, and was honored to light the torch Sunday.
