Mock Draft Tracker 3.0: Raiders continue to improve the secondary

The whirlwind that was free agency has come and gone. Yes, there are still players who remain to be signed, but the bulk of players have found their new teams.

With so many moving pieces, NFL analysts needed some time to update their draft boards after teams filled their needs. While the top of draft boards haven't fluctuated much, there's been some changes to who analysts see the Las Vegas Raiders picking.

Previous picks: Jerry Jeudy, Kenneth Murray

No. 12 CJ Henderson CB Florida
No. 19 Tee Higgins WR Clemson

Analysis:

Henderson - "Let's give Jon Gruden & Co. a potential No. 1 corner in Henderson here. He had an up-and-down 2019 season, but he cemented his standing as the second-ranked cornerback in this class at the combine, where he ran a 4.39 40."

Higgins - If the Raiders take a cornerback at No. 12, they have to address receiver here. They can't go into the season with Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow and Nelson Agholor as Derek Carr's top wideouts. So how about Renfrow's college teammate, Higgins, a 6-foot-3 pass-catcher with elite ball skills. Higgins isn't a speedster -- he didn't work out at the combine, but he ran a 4.54 40 at his pro day -- but he could be an instant red zone threat for Carr.

No. 12 CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma
No. 19 Antoine Winfield Jr. S Minnesota

Analysis:

Lamb - "Lamb is incredible after the catch and could be Vegas' No. 1 receiver. Tyrell Williams isn't the answer, and with both Lamb and Alabama burner Henry Ruggs III still on the board, the Raiders have to get quarterback Derek Carr a weapon."

Winfield Jr. - "Earlier in Round 1, we slotted Vegas with a top-tier wide receiver to help the offensive passing game. Now, we're diving in on a defensive passing game that is in need of a punch. Corner is definitely a bigger issue than safety, but Winfield has tremendous versatility. He is undersized, but he is a hard-hitting tackler with ball skills. Coach Jon Gruden would love bringing in this kid."

Previous picks: CeeDee Lamb, Patrick Queen

No. 12 Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama
No. 19 A.J. Terrell CB Clemson

Analysis:

Jeudy - "The Raiders (26.2 points per game in 2019, 24th in the NFL) need to score more. Enter Jerry Jeudy."

Terrell - "Raiders general manager Mike Mayock loves Clemson products, and Terrell is a long, athletic player who would fit beautifully with his former teammate, 2019 second-round pick Trayvon Mullen."

Previous picks: Jordan Love, Kenneth Murray

No. 12 Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama
No. 19 Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma

Analysis:

Jeudy – "The best route runner in the draft would give Jon Gruden a dynamic playmaker on the perimeter to build the passing game around."

Murray – "Swift linebacker with legit sideline-to-sideline range as a run-and-chase defender."

No. 12 Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama
No. 19 A.J. Terrell CB Clemson

Analysis:

Jeudy - "Pristine route runner with good speed and explosiveness. He can be a field stretcher or a volume target, depending on the matchup."

Terrell - "They still need corner help and Terrell fits the winning culture that GM Mike Mayock covets."

No. 12 Jordan Love QB Utah State
No. 19 Kristian Fulton CB LSU

Analysis:

Love – "It's not crazy to assume Jon Gruden, entering Year 3, will want "his guy" at the quarterback position."

Fulton – "The Raiders could use more young, talented cornerbacks on the roster. Fulton is one of the cleanest prospects in this class."

No. 12 Henry Ruggs III WR Alabama
No. 19 Xavier McKinney S Alabama

Analysis:

Ruggs III – "When you've had to game-plan to stop Tyreek Hill of the Kansas City Chiefs twice a year, you get an appreciation for what speed can do. Wide receiver Henry Ruggs III has that kind of speed and game-changing ability. And he's actually better than Hill was coming into the league."

McKinney – "With the 12th selection, the Raiders went to Alabama for a game-changing wide receiver. At No. 19 overall, general manager Mike Mayock will dip back into Nick Saban's program to add a utility-knife defender with coverage skills who might be the answer to the tight ends in the AFC West."

Take a look at the top 50 prospects leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft, according to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah.
