Raiders announce 2024 Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellows

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders have announced four additions to the coaching staff for the team's 2024 mandatory minicamp as part of the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program.

Fletcher: Fletcher is entering his first year as co-defensive coordinator/cornerbacks coach at Abilene Christian University after serving one season as a defensive assistant at Ole Miss (2023)…Previously Fletcher served as the defensive backs coach at Arizona State University (2021-22) and University of Missouri (2020), cornerbacks coach at Tulsa University (2015-20), and secondary coach at Houston Baptist University (2012-15)…Began his coaching career at Lancaster High School, serving as the passing game coordinator from 2006-11…He also served as the defensive coordinator at Desoto High School (2011) and David W. Carter High School (2011-12)…A native of Austin, Texas, Fletcher played collegiately at Ranger Junior College for two years (1995-96) before playing cornerback at Texas A&M-Commerce…He played in the National Indoor Football League for the Austin Knights in 2001 and the Arena Football League with the Laredo Law Football Club in 2004.

Vandermade: Vandermade finished his first season as Head Coach for St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, Calif. in 2023 …Prior to St. Ignatius, he spent 10 years at USC and most recently served as an offensive quality control coach for the tight ends/offensive line from 2018-22…He also served as an offensive assistant from 2009-12 and 2014-15 before being promoted to tight ends coach in 2015…Vandermade served as the offensive coordinator for Santa Margarita High School from 2016-18 and as the run game coordinator/offensive line coach for Loyola High School from 2013-14…Began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at San Diego State (2007-08) and then served as tight ends coach at the University of San Diego from 2008-09…A native of Santa Ana, Calif., Vandermade was a prep All-American offensive tackle at Mater Dei High School before playing collegiately at USC from 2000-03, where he was a four-year starter on the offensive line at guard and center…Vandermade played in the NFL for the Baltimore Ravens (2004) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2004-06).

Caver: Caver enters his seventh season at Pierce College in Los Angeles, Calif., and his third as offensive coordinator…He served as the Brahmas' run game coordinator/running backs coach from 2020-21 and special teams/running backs coach from 2018-19…Caver brings with him 14 years of experience coaching at the junior college level…Prior to Pierce College, Caver served as the offensive coordinator at Milken Community High School (2017-18) after one season as the recruiting coordinator at Southwest College…He has had stints at Santa Monica College (2016-17) and Los Angeles Valley College (2014-16), where he won the CCCAA Golden State Bowl in 2015…He also coached at the high school level for six years, making stops at Sylmar High School (2012), Bernstein High School (2007-11) and Van Nuys High School…A native of Newburgh, N.Y., Caver attend Southern University.

Yanagi: Yanagi enters his first season as special teams quality control coach at Army West Point after spending the 2023 season as the special teams coordinator at the University of Nevada… Prior to the 2023 season at Nevada, he spent a short stint as a special teams intern at Tulsa and in 2022 was the special teams/outside linebackers graduate assistant at Nevada…A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Yanagi helped Saint Louis High School to back-to-back Division I state titles in 2016 and 2017 before playing four seasons as a long snapper for the University of Oregon (2018-21), where he was a two-time Pac-12 Champion (2019-20) and a Rose Bowl Champion (2019).

Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship

Designed as a vocational tool to increase the number of full-time NFL minority coaches, all 32 NFL clubs participate each year. The program's objective is to use NFL clubs' offseason workout programs and minicamps to give talented coaches opportunities to observe, participate, gain experience, and ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position.
