Ten Pro Football Hall of Fame members will announce picks, including WILLIE BROWN,DICK BUTKUS,LARRY CSONKA, MARSHALL FAULK,MICHAEL IRVIN,ORLANDO PACE,BRUCE SMITH,WILL SHIELDS, LYNN SWANNand PAUL WARFIELD.
For the first time, Round 3 Draft announcements will feature winners of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide, including national winners Carolina Panthers linebacker THOMAS DAVIS (2014) and former Kansas City Chiefs guard WILL SHIELDS (2003), as well as team winners.
The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recognizes a player for his excellence on and off the field and represents the best of the NFL's commitment to philanthropy and community impact. During Round 3, Chicago Bears 2010 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year team winner, defensive end ISRAEL IDONIJE, will announce the Bears' pick alongside middle school students from Barton Elementary School in Chicago.
Barton Elementary School students are participating in the new national education initiative focused on youth character development and healthy relationships, Character Playbook, which is funded by the NFL Foundation, United Way Worldwide and powered by EverFi. The interactive digital program will be implemented directly in schools in NFL team markets, starting immediately in 14 NFL markets and expanding to all 32 and surrounding communities over the next three years.
Medal of Honor recipient, retired Staff Sgt. Salvatore "Sal" Giunta, will announce the Falcons' Round 3 pick alongside Atlanta's Man of the Year winner, fullback PATRICK DIMARCO, a strong supporter of our nation's military servicemen and women.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital patient ANDREW WOODRUFF, 13, will join COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL to announce a pick during Round 3. Woodruff is a Seattle Seahawks fan and is being treated at St. Jude for Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.
Make-A-Wish recipient DANIEL HALIPERN, 16, will join Commissioner Goodell to announce the Denver Broncos first round pick. Halipern is a high school sophomore and Broncos fan from Denver, Colorado.
