Raiders Sign DE Armonty Bryant

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent DE Armonty Bryant, the club announced Friday.

Bryant was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round (217th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. For his career, he has appeared in 36 games with four starts with the Browns and Detroit Lions, totaling 44 tackles, 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder did not appear in a game in 2017, but played in five games for the Lions in 2016, recording three sacks and one forced fumble. In 2015, he set career highs with 14 games played and 5.5 sacks for the Browns.

A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Bryant appeared in 30 games over three seasons at East Central University and totaled 165 tackles and 27.5 sacks over his career. His 27.5 career sacks set a school record.
