The Raiders have signed second-round draft pick QB Derek Carr, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Wednesday.

Carr is the fifth of the team's eight draft picks from the 2014 NFL Draft to sign his rookie contract.

"I feel great. I'm excited. I'm excited that this part of it is over and now we can just get to work and focus on winning games and getting better every day," Carr said.

Carr was selected 36th overall by the Raiders in this month's draft. He played in 44 games over four seasons at Fresno State, setting 27 school records and 21 Mountain West Conference records. The 6-foot-3, 214-pounder was a two-time Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year (2012-13) and two-time All-American selection. His career totals include 12,842 passing yards on 1,086-of-1,630 passing with 113 touchdowns and just 24 interceptions.

The Bakersfield, Calif.-native led the nation as a senior in passing yards (5,082) and touchdowns (50), becoming just the fourth quarterback in FBS history to throw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in a season. Carr earned Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year honors while helping his team to an appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl.
