State Farm® Raiders Road Trip winner Veronica Gamino traveled to San Diego to see the Raiders take on the Chargers on December 30th, 2012. Gamino first learned about the contest on the Raiders Facebook page. After noticing the post had thousands of "likes," she doubted she would win but entered for the chance to take her dad to the game.
After learning she won, Gamino surprised her father with the trip as a holiday gift and the two of them traveled to San Diego for Gamino's first Raiders game. "I presented my dad with his first gift which was the snapback Raiders hat he had been wanting for a while along with a card," said Gamino. "He first read what I wrote, 'Dad, I hope you love this gift as much as I love you,' and I printed the email that [the Raiders] had first sent and put that in the card. After a few minutes of reading the paper he looked at me and said 'How did you get these?'"
For Veronica, the best part of being a fan is the time she spends every Sunday at her grandparents' house watching the games on TV with her family. To be able to go to her first Raiders game with her dad, who introduced her to the Raiders at the age of three, was special. "It means I've created a great memory with my dad and made him happy, and myself too," said Gamino.
After attending the Raiders game in San Diego, Veronica is even more excited for the 2013 season. "We are going to get season tickets, so I want to come to every game with my Dad," she said.
