Former Raiders Running Back Pete Banaszak

This past Sunday, former Oakland Raiders running back Pete Banaszak lit the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum torch honoring Al Davis before the game against the Atlanta Falcons. Banaszak was a member of the Silver and Black from 1966 to 1978, and accumulated 3,772 yards rushing with 47 rushing touchdowns during that time frame.

Banaszak played under Al Davis when he was on the team, and was a piece of the Super Bowl XI championship team. The former champ expressed his gratitude to the Davis family and the Raiders organization.

"Well first of all I am very flattered, honored," said Banaszak. "Al drafted me back in 1967 and I was here for 13 years and he did a lot for me. I owe him a lot."
