Raiders 2025 Mock Draft Tracker 1.0: Who to pick at No. 6?

2025-Mock-Draft_v1

With Super Bowl LIX over and the 2024 season in the books, it's time to turn the page to draft season.

Each week leading up to the NFL Draft, Raiders.com will compile the latest mock drafts from top analysts and take a look at who they're predicting the Silver and Black will select with the No. 6 overall pick.

Without further ado, let's dive into the media's early predictions for the first round.

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "We'll see whether the Raiders feel the need to try to move up the board to secure a quarterback, but in this scenario, they can land the best pure passer in the draft right at No. 6. This season, Sanders trailed only Ward in touchdown passes (37) and was fourth in the FBS in passing yards (4,134). He throws with touch and precision when given time and space in the pocket."

Date: Feb. 11

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "Shedeur Sanders falls in the Raiders lap in this mock, but they may have to make a move up in actuality to get this done. Sanders has the kind of underneath accuracy to quickly develop a rapport with Brock Bowers in the Raiders offense."

Date: Feb. 11

Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Analysis: "If the Raiders opt to ride with a veteran quarterback next season -- someone like Sam Darnold or Russell Wilson -- I'd expect the team's new regime to use this pick on an offensive weapon. Vegas missed having a bell-cow back this past year, and Jeanty's combination of vision, balance, speed and power project for him to have a highly productive NFL career."

Date: Feb. 10

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "A mobile pocket battler with terrific accuracy and toughness, Sanders always will need more help from the roster around him than your average top-10 QB — but he can be a terrific point guard for a long time."

Date: Feb. 10

Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Analysis: "Unless Las Vegas pushes its chips in for Sam Darnold or another established veteran in free agency, this remains a spot to watch for a potential trade up for a quarterback. As it stands, however, the massive McMillan (6-5, 212 pounds) can help the Raiders move the chains consistently and finish off drives as an imposing red zone target."

Date: Feb. 10

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "Sanders' accuracy and confidence feel like a tempting combination for Tom Brady's new squad."

Date: Feb. 9

Pick: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Analysis: "The Raiders were left at the quarterback altar with no bride in last year's stacked quarterback class. They should have at least one new quarterback on the roster before draft weekend to avoid forcing themselves into picking one here, but if Ward falls, I could still see them drafting him."

Date: Feb. 9

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "Sanders doesn't have top-end physical traits, but he has many other traits that are imperative for playing the position. He doesn't have a rocket arm, but he's accurate. He's also fearless. He'll stand in the pocket as long as he must to get the throw off, take the big hit, and then get up and do it again. This gets him in trouble with sacks a little too often, and the hope is you can find the right balance."

Date: Feb. 7

Pick: Tyler Booker, IOL, Alabama

Analysis: "I know some people might argue an IOL in the top 10 isn't sexy, but I don't know if there's anything more desirable than creating a fortress for a QB to operate behind. The Alabama product kept his base lowest for the longest of any offensive lineman in this draft class, and his size is right in the sweet spot for an interior blocker."

Date: Feb. 7

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado (via mock trade to No. 2 with Cleveland Browns)

Analysis: "Let's say Cleveland is not sold on the quarterback, but the Raiders are all in on Sanders and recognize the need to get in front of the quarterback-needy Giants. The Browns would be a willing seller and the Raiders make it worth their while in this instance."

Date: Feb. 6

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "No trade needed this time. Tom Brady, Pete Carroll and Co. land their quarterback of the future in Sanders."

Date: Feb. 5

Pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

Analysis: "Hunter is the best athlete -- and the best player -- in this draft class. We've had otherworldly cornerbacks and wide receivers in previous classes but he's a two-fer, able to dominate on both sides of the ball and take over games."

Date: Feb. 4

Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona

Analysis: "McMillan pairs impressive acceleration for his stature with strong play at the catch point, making him one of the nation's most dangerous deep threats. Since the start of 2023, he has secured 25 receptions of 20 or more yards—the most in the Power Five."

Date: Feb. 3

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "Sanders stays poised within the pocket and displays excellent toughness, with a knack for timing-based throws. He doesn't have blazing speed or superior arm strength, but he is extremely accurate, as his 6.5% off-target percentage in 2024 was second among quarterbacks in this class."

Date: Feb. 3

Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Analysis: "Pete Carroll football teams have always prospered when running the ball. The hire of Chip Kelly as the team's OC seems to affirm they'll look to do it again – and while Las Vegas appears to have the offensive line to play that brand of football, they do NOT have the back. That all changes with Ashton Jeanty – who is arguably a best player available pick who could also dramatically change the feel of defending the Raiders' offense."

Date: Feb. 3

Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Analysis: "Pete Carroll blows up the draft! Why not? When everyone else is having trouble slotting Jeanty lower, I'll give him to the coach he was meant to play for."

Date: Jan. 31

Pick: Mason Graham, DL, Michigan

Analysis: "Graham is a highly disruptive interior defender who can defeat blocks, hold his ground against the run, and collapse the pocket against the pass."

Date: Jan. 29

Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Analysis: "Upgrading the talent on the perimeter is a top priority for a Raiders offense that relied extensively on rookie tight end Brock Bowers in 2024."

Date: Jan. 29

Pick: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Analysis: "Johnson is probably the best player available at this point in the draft, bringing potential shutdown cornerback skills to a defense that desperately needs big-time talent on the outside."

Date: Jan. 29

Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Analysis: "Tom Brady, now a partner in the Raiders' ownership, is someone who would appreciate Sanders' toughness, accuracy and decision making."

Date: Jan. 26

Pick: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Analysis: "While Johnson missed seven games due to various injuries this past season, he was a lockdown cornerback across his first two years. His 90.8 PFF grade in man coverage across 2022 and 2023 tied for the best in the nation alongside Quinyon Mitchell."

Date: Jan. 27

Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Analysis: "Tight end Brock Bowers had an amazing rookie season (1,194 yards), but the wide receiver room is light after the Raiders dealt Davante Adams to the Jets. McMillan has the body control to make tough, contested catches and finished 2024 with 1,319 receiving yards and eight TDs."
