Raiders Activate Obi Melifonwu

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Oakland Raiders have activated S Obi Melifonwu from the Reserve/Injured – Designated for Return List and added him to active roster, the club announced Saturday.

Melifonwu, who will wear No. 20, was placed on the Reserve/Injured List on Sept. 5.

The 6-foot-4, 224-pounder was originally drafted by the Raiders in the second round (56th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. Melifonwu played in 48 games over his four-year career at Connecticut, finishing with 351 tackles (224 solo), eight interceptions, 16 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, while earning All-AAC First Team honors as a senior in 2016.

In a corresponding transaction, the Raiders have waived/injured CB Demetrius McCray.
