ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed LB Jason Cabinda to the active roster from the team's practice squad, the club announced Tuesday.
Cabinda, a 6-foot-1, 243-pound linebacker signed by the club as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State, played four years for the Nittany Lions, seeing action in 43 games with 36 starts. Cabinda finished his career ranked ninth on the school's all-time list with 286 tackles (115 solo), adding six career sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 11 passes defensed and one interception.
In a corresponding move, the team has released LB Derrick Johnson. Signed to the team as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason, the 14-year veteran appeared in all six contests this season, making one start and recording 17 tackles (14).
