With the holiday season approaching, Raiders cornerback Jack Jones spent his Tuesday morning giving out Thanksgiving meal kits and grocery store gift cards to families at the Casa de Luz food distribution center in Las Vegas.

Approximately 200 families from the surrounding community received the meal kits.

"Coming from where I come from, I like to help out people, help out the community," Jones said. "It just wasn't easy for me growing up, so I like to give back to the people when I can.

"It's a great feeling because I grew up not eating meals every night. Some nights were tough for us, for the family. This is a good thing, going out and helping families get food on the plate."

In addition to providing the meal kit bags, Jones met with Casa de Luz staff and student interns, and received a tour of the organization's location at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip.

"It means a lot," Shadiaa Brewer said after receiving her meal kit. "I just talked to Jack, he's down to earth. It just helps. It's a good look. It shows they support their community."

Casa de Luz has been serving families in its Las Vegas neighborhoods for over 15 years. In addition to their food pantry which assists 1,700+ people per month, the organization provides dental and medical care, tutoring, and youth programs among other services.

"It shows that they're not alone and that they have a village around them of people that genuinely care for them and about them," said Brandon Jones, the organization's program director. "We are here to offer them services to help them sustain and live a normal life as much as possible. We like to give a hand up, not a hand out. Our biggest thing is, yes, we want to help people but we also want them to be able to survive independently on their own."

Jones was drafted in the fourth round (121st overall) by New England in the 2022 NFL Draft. After playing in 13 games in 2022 and four in 2023, he was waived by the Patriots and claimed by Las Vegas.

In the Raiders' recent Week 9 visit to Cincinnati, Jones notched his third pick-six in 17 games played with the Silver and Black. He became one of five players in NFL history with 4+ interceptions returned for a touchdown in his first three seasons in the NFL.

The opportunity to make plays on the field and an impact in the Las Vegas community is something Jones doesn't take for granted.

"This feels like home," he said. "This is like my second home. I'm from California so this is like the closest thing. ... Coming out here, it's a familiar face, so coming out here, helping the community, I feel like that's a big thing on my part."
