The Oakland Raiders added free agent K Justin Medlock, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Tuesday.
Medlock has played in 11 career games, including 10 with the Carolina Panthers in 2012, and has made 8-of-12 field-goal attempts in two NFL seasons. He also spent three years in the Canadian Football League, playing two seasons for the Toronto Argonauts (2009-10) and one year with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2011).
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound kicker was the Kansas City Chiefs' fifth-round draft selection (160th overall) in 2007 out of UCLA, where he lettered four years and set a program record with six field goals of 50 or more yards. Medlock was a college teammate of current Raiders punter Chris Kluwe for two seasons (2003-04).
A Bay Area native, Medlock attended Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, Calif.
To create space on the roster, the Raiders waived CB Mitchell White.
