Notes and Observations from Day 12 of Practice
Offense
- Zamir White had another strong showing, bouncing off defenders throughout the whole practice. His fast and physical play style seems to fit in well in Luke Getsy's scheme. He had 23 rushing yards and a touchdown in last Saturday's game.
- After the first preseason game, Antonio Pierce told the media that the success of the tight end room will be imperative within the offense. We got another good glance at that Tuesday night. Brock Bowers made a few impressive catches, including a touchdown during red zone drills.
- It didn't take long for quarterback Nathan Peterman to get back on the Raiders practice field and make some plays. He signed with the team Tuesday morning, having previously spent four seasons in Las Vegas from 2018 to 2021. He made multiple completions in the second half of team period, getting in good reps with some of the younger guys vying to make the roster.
Defense
- It's no surprise that Maxx Crosby had another dominant showing during team period, getting after any and all quarterbacks under center. He's seemingly always blowing up plays and getting in the backfield with ease.
- The lone turnover of the day came from Tre’von Moehrig. The starting free safety made a great play on the ball during 7-on-7 drills, a common occurrence over the last few weeks. Moehrig has had an outstanding camp with multiple interceptions.
Special Teams
- The special teams period was heavily focused on kick and punt return coverage being in the right places to make tackles. While Dylan Laube saw the majority of reps on return duties, there were several gunners that stood out in return coverage including rookies Decamerion Richardson and Amari Gainer.
Quote of the day
What helps you make plays is by dominating the simple things. That's truly what's helped me get to my level. ... Just by dominating the simple details and that's going to lead to bigger things. Maxx Crosby
