Lott originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, signing with the Tennessee Titans in May 2015. Last season, he spent training camp with the Titans before being signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice, where he was most of the year. Lott also participated in parts of the offseason program this year with the Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles.
The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder played three seasons at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga after transferring from Georgia, where he appeared in five total games. At UTC, Lott played in 29 games with 14 starts and totaled 114 tackles, eight sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. As a senior in 2014, he was named to the All-Southern Conference First Team after posting six sacks.
