Rookie WR Amari Cooper turned in today's Play of the Day.

The Oakland Raiders hit the field for a late afternoon practice at their Napa Valley Training Camp Complex as training camp continues.

Here are today's observations:

The team came out on the field to blaring music again – this time, AC/DC was blasting at the beginning of practice.

Kicker Sebastian Janikowski could be seen practicing his onside kick early on in practice.

Several absentees today: Fullback Jamize Olawale, tight end Clive Walford, running back Michael Dyer, wide receiver Rod Streater, linebacker Sio Moore, tight end Lee smith, running back Roy Helu Jr.,  and offensive tackle Menelik Watson all did not participate in this afternoon's Raiders practice.

Justin Tuck was back to work a day after taking a veteran's day off.

There was a heavy focus placed on receivers blocking today. Additionally, there was a strong emphasis on linebackers in pass coverage.

Linebacker Malcolm Smith showed off his coverage skills in linebacker/running back drills, playing well in space. Running back Taiwan Jones shows his quickness time after time when he gets chance to kick any run outside. He also looked good returning kicks today and continues to build upon a strong camp.

Cornerback Rob Daniel really held his own today in one-on-ones, which isn't an easy task when quarterbacks are throwing with no pass rush.

Also in wide receiver/cornerback one-one-ones, Neiko Thorpe had a nice interception going against Kenbrell Thompkins, using his body really well for positioning.

Offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom and defensive tackle Leon Orr had some nice, physical battles in one-on-ones. J'Marcus Webb had some nice battles against Justin Tuck as well.

Special teams continues to be focused on heavily – lots of practice periods have been dedicated to that phase of the game.

Wide receiver Kris Durham made a nice catch in traffic off a nice pass from QB Matt McGloin. Durham really knows how to use his size and has had a strong camp.

Keith McGill had a few nice pass breakups, including a great one for which he covered wide receiver Andre Holmes.

Near the end of practice, tight ends Gabe Holmes, Mychal Rivera, and Brian Leonhardt all took the field at the same time.

In the final period, quarterback Derek Carr hit tight end Mychal Rivera for a big gain in the hurry-up offense. Carr and Rivera then connected again to finish the drive off for a touchdown. The team went immediately into the two-point conversion attempt, which was run in by Latavius Murray.

On another two-point conversion attempt, Michael Crabtree went up high for a great catch on a fade over Keith McGill.

Play of the Day:

From the shotgun, Derek Carr hit Amari Cooper in stride for a 70-plus-yards touchdown.
