What They're Saying: Jaguars preparing for 'chess match' with Raiders defense

The Raiders are back at Allegiant Stadium in Week 16 and will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in their penultimate home game of the season.

Take a look at what the Jaguars' players and coaches had to say ahead of Sunday's game.

On what stands out about the Raiders defense:

"They do a lot. They present a lot to you. I think the beauty of them is they can basically play all their schemes from any different personnel grouping. So, they're going to have something very specific to you. I think that's a little bit of the New England in Coach Graham's background that you're going to come out in the first quarter, you're going to try to figure out how they're playing your 12 personnel, how they're playing your passing strength, how they're adjusting certain things, how they're building their fronts, because it's probably going to be something that we've maybe seen once this year or haven't necessarily seen on tape from them. But it gets pretty specific to you, how they view your scheme, your personnel. So, that's always the challenge, the chess match of trying to settle in to figure out what they're doing to you and how you're going to play. Then, they play really hard. There's a lot of pressure, probably more pressure on normal-down situations than we're used to seeing throughout the course of the year." - Jaguars offensive coordinator Press Taylor

On if the Raiders defense is different without Maxx Crosby:

"Played against him a few times and obviously, Maxx is a premier player in this league. I think they did a good job this past week and played hard. They try to confuse the quarterback and put the defensive guys in different spots. I have some familiarity with it. Obviously, Coach Graham has done a great job." - Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones

On DE K'Lavon Chaisson:

"He's playing really well. Providing a spark, and obviously now with Maxx [Crosby] not there, he'll step up and do even more. It's a great opportunity for him, but you're seeing that on film. He brings a lot of energy to that defense and has done a nice job with him." - Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson

On TE Brock Bowers:

"Great player. Good young player. Just his ability to separate and get open, obviously using him the right way and just making plays for him. He's a dynamic tight end." - Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson

"He catches the ball well. He can run away from even the safeties and stuff, but he uses his body well and then makes explosives down the field when he's able to catch and run. He's a good athlete, good explosive player. It's all about being able to match up on him throughout the down, really." - Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun

On preparing for a team without having certainty on who will start at quarterback:

"You've got to prepare both ways. First of all, your calls should be able to play the same, because regardless, they have basically the same plays. They might have a couple of wrinkles with like some zone read stuff. I know [Desmond] Ridder runs the ball a little more, maybe scrambles a little more. But basically, our calls are going to be played the same." - Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun
