What They're Saying: Denver Broncos know 'if you don't corral [Brock Bowers] early, he can score on you'

After almost a month away from Allegiant Stadium, the Raiders are back home this Sunday to host the Denver Broncos.

Take a look at what the Broncos' players and coaches had to say ahead of Week 12.

On how the Raiders offense looks under a reshuffled coaching staff:

"It's only been one week on tape as far as the new coordinator, new o-line coach, new kind of philosophy, but it looked good. Especially in the first half against the Dolphins, they're in that game. The running game was crisp, it was working. The passing game was quick, it was efficient. Obviously Brock [Bowers] played very well. They've got [Michael] Mayer back now, tight end. He's a high draft pick who's a target also. He's a great blocker, in-line blocker. They have a chance to run their two tight end sets to keep you off balance with run and pass game. So, it's always tough to track 12-personnel because it can look like 11 and be pass and Brock can be a receiver, or it can look like 12 and be an in-line run. It's good to have two tight ends, one who's a joker-type receiver type so you can go between 12 and 11 personnel looks." - Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph

On whether he's seen any influence of senior advisor Norv Turner on the Raiders offense:

"I've known Norv a long time, and I think that influence already exists within the framework of his son [Raiders interim fffensive coordinator Scott Turner]. You have to defend what you're seeing of late because I'm sure there are certain things — there are always some things. ... I think it's an offense that's obviously in flux with the change, and we have to defend it. I know there are two important numbers: 98 [Maxx Crosby] and 89 [Brock Bowers]." - Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton

On DE Maxx Crosby:

"He's a really good player. He played well last time we played him even though he was a little banged up. I'm sure he's going to be fresh and ready to go this game. One thing about him is his motor never stops. He's a hard-working player. He plays every snap really hard, and he tries to get in everyone's head. That's just the type of style he is and the player he is. He's really good. One of the best in the league." - Broncos quarterback Bo Nix

On TE Brock Bowers:

"Someone had a real good vision for him and you see all the 'Joker' traits, means and change of direction. It can't be a little. It's a high-end receiving trait and he can move, he can be outside and he can run a route tree maybe different than most tight ends. He certainly goes up and makes the first touchdown catch against us." - Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton

"He's special. He's got what, 70 catches on the year? He had about 16 targets last week. But he can score touchdowns. That's the difference with this guy. He's a touchdown maker. He's a hard tackle, he can run, he's got great ball skills. If you don't corral him early, he can score on you." - Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph

"They made it key for him to get the ball. Obviously, 13 catches is a high rate, especially for a rookie. You can see how they made it a point of emphasis to give him the ball in any spot and any position. They even have him at 'X' [receiver] backside and at his tight end spot at the 'Z'. He is playing all positions, and they are utilizing him very well. It will be a good challenge for us." - Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II

On the atmosphere of Allegiant Stadium:

"I'm excited to go [there for] a road divisional game. They're always a lot of fun. I know it's an important game. It's going to be an awesome atmosphere. It's going to be a fun game. They're going to have a good team. They're going to be ready to go. Playing them again, I think it's going to be a good game. I'm excited for the opportunity we have. Any divisional games are always important." - Broncos quarterback Bo Nix

On the challenges of playing a team for the second time:

"It's been several weeks since the last time we played them, so they will have changed things, kind of like we have. The most recent video will kind of tell us more about them and what they've changed. They're not going to come out here and just be completely different. It's hard for defenses to change completely. When you watch coordinators, they're creatures of habit usually and they go back to what's worked in the past. We'll be prepared. We'll have some changeups, but they'll have some too." - Broncos quarterback Bo Nix
