What They're Saying: Panthers gearing up to face a Raiders defense that 'plays with an attitude'

The Raiders return home to Allegiant Stadium to play the Carolina Panthers and will look to build off of last week's comeback victory over Baltimore.

Take a look at what the Panthers' players and coaches had to say ahead of Week 3.

On what stands out about offensive coordinator Luke Getsy as a playcaller:

"Luke is very, very good in terms of knowing what you do defensively, knowing your rules, and coming up with runs and passes that attack what you do schematically. We know that he's going to have a very specific gameplan for all the issues that we have and we've got to be ready for it." - Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero

On the Raiders offense with QB Gardner Minshew II:

"They look good. It's not his first rodeo. He's been a starter for a couple different teams. I liked Gardner Minshew when he came out of Wazzu. He's a good guy, he's a competitor, he's a winner, he's a baller. He's going to do everything to fight. You see what they did in Baltimore. That team's got some fight, they don't have a lot of quit in them." - Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson

"They look good. He does a good job of getting the ball to his playmakers, getting the ball out fast. He's been playing good ball. It's going to be a challenge, but we're up for it, definitely." - Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn

On the threats the Raiders offense present:

"They've got two very good skill players, Davante and 89 [Brock Bowers]. They've got two threats and it's always hard when you've got multiple guys like that. The quarterback has the ability to extend plays and make plays on the move. We've got a good challenge ahead of us. Got to believe that based on what we've done and based on the personality of their head coach, they're going to try to come out and run the ball." - Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero

On WR Davante Adams:

"I watched him in practice for a year and he's an amazing player, arguably the best receiver of this generation. We've got to understand what he does when he's outside, when he's inside, using our different coverages, getting some coverage rolled to him, all those things. It's a chess piece for sure. ... I don't think there's any one way you stop him. You can't give him the same look. If you decide to double him every play, obviously you're outnumbered in other areas. We've got to just continue to roll the gameplan around and give him different looks and attack him in different ways and hope for the best." - Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero

On the Raiders defense:

"They have a great defensive line. Their whole defense plays with an attitude. I respect that a lot. Linebackers fly around. It's a great challenge. I'm looking forward to it." – Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard

"Tremendous defensive line. Expecting to see a lot of Maxx Crosby, a lot of Christian WIlkins. Great players. Excited about the challenge. We've been studying our butts off, watching a lot of film and figuring out the best way to attack these guys and put our best football out there on Sunday." - Panthers tackle Taylor Moton

"They play hard on defense. It's kind of a relentless effort. It's not just what they're doing initially, it's the high motor that they play with. Especially for Maxx, he's one of the best rushers in the league. The way he plays kind of feeds over to the other guys." – Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton

On DE Maxx Crosby:

"You've just got to account for him. I don't think there's any secret there. He's one of the best. He's relentless. One of the first questions you ask [when] scouts come in is, 'Hey, when does this guy come off the field? Is there a chance that we could sit back there a little bit and take a little bit of a breath when he's off the field?' No, he doesn't come off the field. He's played 100 percent of their snaps this year. I think he played like 95 last year. He goes balls to the wall every single snap. He's just someone you have to account for." – Panthers offensive coordinator Brad Idzik
