Players on active roster
Statistically speaking, Brock Bowers was the best tight end in the NFL in 2024.
The only two-time John Mackey Award winner in college football history made a seamless transition to the NFL after being selected with the No. 13 overall pick by the Raiders. Bowers didn't look back on his path to taking the league by storm.
The rookie led all tight ends in receptions (112), receiving yards (1,194) and yards after catch (596) while also leading the Raiders in all of those categories. He was the lone rookie to be voted First-Team All-Pro by the Associated Press (AP) and is a finalist for AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
All signs pointed to Bowers and Michael Mayer forming a dynamic pass catching tandem. However, Mayer missed six games due to personal matters. Returning back to the field in Week 11 at the Miami Dolphins, the second-year tight end did his best to make up for lost time. He totaled 135 receiving yards on 17 catches in his last eight games of the season.
Harrison Bryant, who spent his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, signed with the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. He saw an uptick in snaps during Mayer's absence, playing in 13 games with three starts.
Justin Shorter, a 2023 fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills, signed to the team's practice squad during the preseason. He was ultimately signed to the active roster in November, appearing in 10 total games on the season.
