Quick Snap: Raiders can't complete comeback bid vs. Rams

It came down to the wire for the Las Vegas Raiders but they ultimately couldn't pull off a near comeback against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7, falling 20-15.

Everything that could've gone wrong for the Raiders happened in the first half. Starting quarterback Aidan O'Connell exited the game with a right thumb injury in the first quarter with Gardner Minshew II taking over the rest of the way.

Two turnovers from Minshew (an interception and fumble) resulted in the 14 points for the Rams, taking a 14-6 lead at half. Another interception from Minshew in the third quarter would bring the Rams' lead to 20-6 after kicker Joshua Karty missed the extra point.

The Silver and Black's defense was able to come away with a momentum shifting interception from Nate Hobbs, assisted by a tipped ball from linebacker Robert Spillane.

The Raiders offense seemingly got things clicking in the fourth quarter by getting down in the red zone multiple times. However, the Silver and Black couldn't make it into the end zone and settled for two more field goals from Daniel Carlson, who cut the lead down to 20-15.

It marked Carlson's third career game with five made field goals and the third time in franchise history that the Raiders made 5+ field goals and scored no other points (15-0 win in 2012 Week 15 vs. Chiefs; 15-13 win in 2000 Week 9 at Chargers).

As the Raiders got the ball back with 1:46 left in regulation, Minshew threw a third and fatal interception to end the team's chances of a third 10-point come from behind victory this season.

While the Raiders will assess what could've been for next 24 hours, the Kansas City Chiefs will be awaiting back at Allegiant Stadium next Sunday.
