Raiders-Rams Pick

By Nick Hennion, BETMGM

Based on odds from the BetMGM online sportsbook, I'm using the Raiders (+12.5) as the first leg of a two-team, six-point teaser.

Don't overreact to the Raiders' performance against the Steelers. Most of Vegas' struggles came as a result of turnovers in poor positions.

Four of Pittsburgh's seven scoring drives started from inside Raiders territory. That leads me to believe Vegas' 32 points allowed is slightly misleading.

Exclude that performance against Pittsburgh, and there are reasons for optimism with the Raiders defense.

In Weeks 1-5, the Raiders ranked 14th in dropback EPA per play and success rate allowed. Las Vegas also posted its two best pressure success grades in the last three games.

That should allow for success against a banged-up Rams offensive line that still has lingering questions at wide receiver if Cooper Kupp doesn't play.

Plus, it's unlikely the Raiders experience similar turnover problems this week.

Antonio Pierce's side goes from facing a Steelers defense second in PFF's defensive grades to a Rams team 27th in those standings.

Lastly, Pierce is 8-3 against a six-point teaser in 11 games where he's closed as an underdog, including 5-1 when he's listed at +3.5 or higher.

For the second leg of this teaser, I'll take the Seahawks up from +3 to +9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Head to my Falcons vs. Seahawks prediction for the analysis.
