Quick Snap: Raiders defeat Ravens

The Raiders defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 26-23, on Sunday in M&T Bank Stadium.

For a second straight week, the Raiders defense got off to a fast start. They held the Ravens out of the end zone in the entirety of the first half, with Baltimore Pro Bowl kicker Justin Tucker going 3-for-4 on field goal attempts.

Through the first two quarters, the Ravens offense seemed to have no answer for Maxx Crosby. The Condor was tearing up the box score with 10 total tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack and a pass deflection on the day. The defense also received contributions from second-year cornerback Jakorian Bennett, who finished with two pass deflections.

It was a different story on the offensive side of the ball. Gardner Minshew II was sacked three times in the first half and threw an interception to Marlon Humphrey. The offense also struggled to get the run game going. Zamir White finishing Sunday as the team's leading rusher with 24 yards on nine carries.

The Silver and Black got six points from kicker Daniel Carlson as he knocked in two field goals over 50 yards.

The offense seemed to settle in a bit in the second half, consistently moving the ball down the field. They capitalized on a clutch interception from Robert Spillane, turning around a 46-yard drive capped off with a touchdown run by Alexander Mattison.

Including Mattison's touchdown run, the Raiders went on to score on three straight drives. A 25-yard field goal from Daniel Carlson and an RPO on the goal line to Davante Adams tied the game at 23. Adams finished the day with a game-high nine receptions for 110 yards.

After a third-and-out from the Ravens offense, propelled by a second sack of the day from Crosby, the Raiders got the ball back with 2:27 left in regulation.

With 31 seconds in regulation, they turned to Carlson. A 38-yarder would seal the deal for the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Silver and Black will return to the desert with a 1-1 record to face the Carolina Panthers (0-2) in their home opener at Allegiant Stadium.
