What They're Saying: Matthew Stafford anticipating a 'buttoned-up, well-coached' Raiders defense

The Raiders are headed to SoFi Stadium for a matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

Take a look at what the Rams' players and coaches had to say ahead of Week 7.

On preparing for the Raiders:

"I see a team that plays really hard on film. ... I know Coach Pierce will have those guys ready to go. When I look at the film, regardless of whatever those narratives are, I'm seeing a team that presents a lot of issues, both personnel wise. They play hard [and] they're well-coached."- Rams Head Coach Sean McVay

On what sticks out about the Raiders defense:

"They're really well-coached across the board. They present a bunch of different looks, a bunch of different personnel groupings. They do a really nice job. It's a really buttoned-up, well-coached outfit and they have really good players. They have good players at all three levels, guys that can affect the game in a positive way for them, get the football back, all those kinds of things. They're a really solid unit." - Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford

On DE Maxx Crosby:

"He's a stud, he's a game wrecker. ... So much respect. Last year was the first year I had ever had to go against him per se. I've never played him before on any team I've been on. You got to see him up close and how destructive this guy can be. What really stands out about him, and this defense, is he doesn't take a play off ever and he plays so hard. That's the way this game should be played. The utmost respect for him and the other guys, and just kind of what they're doing there on defense in terms of just how hard they play. We'll have our hands full for sure not just with him, but all these guys." - Rams Head Coach Sean McVay

"He's an incredible player, to be honest with you. He jumps off the tape. He's in there on every single play, and his effort is relentless. He obviously has great skill, technique and physical attributes as well, but he has the motor to go with it that's as good or better than everybody that I've put on when I watch the tape. Really great competitor. ... Overall, he's an enjoyable guy to compete against. He's intense out there, he loves playing the game, he loves competing and he's a really good player." - Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford

On TE Brock Bowers:

"Obviously with Brock Bowers, he can do a ton of things. He is a great all-around tight end. They use him in a bunch of different ways. They can really line him up anywhere as far as within the core part of the formation or you can split him out and play as receiver. Unbelievable. Whether it's getting open, catching the ball or even after the catch, he's definitely going to be a great challenge." - Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula

"He's a problem. He does a great job contributing to the blocking surface. He can play all over the core. They give him jet sweeps. He's creating after the catch. All the things that made him such a great prospect, you're seeing be brought to life early on in his NFL career. There isn't anything that he can't do. I'm seeing a guy that has a complete game and I think they do a great job of trying to feature him in a variety of ways." - Rams Head Coach Sean McVay
