Halftime Report: Bowers makes NFL history, Raiders hold 3-point lead over Saints

The Raiders dominated time of possession and entered the half with a 13-10 lead over the Saints.

Here are some first-half takeaways from the Raiders' final road game of the season:

Bowers Makes History

Brock Bowers' historic rookie campaign continued in New Orleans. With his third catch of the half - a 13-yard grab in the second quarter - Bowers surpassed Mike Ditka (1,076 in 1961) for the most receiving yards in a single-season by a rookie tight end.

Bowers is just the third rookie tight end in NFL history with a 1,000-yard season, joining Ditka and Kyle Pitts.

He finished the half with a co-team-high four receptions for 38 yards and is currently tied with Puka Nacua (105) for the most receptions by a rookie in NFL history.

Meyers and Abdullah Lead The Way

Last week against Jacksonville, Ameer Abdullah recorded his most scrimmage yards in a game (85) since 2017. He got the start at running back today on the road in New Orleans and turned in another productive half. He led the Raiders in rushing yards (71) and finished with 103 scrimmage yards, his most in a single half in his career and his third most in a game.

Jakobi Meyers added four receptions for 42 yards and his first receiving touchdown since Week 8. Meyers has now set a new single-season career high in receiving yards (885).

Rookie Rattler Starts For New Orleans

First-year quarterback Spencer Rattler made his fifth start of the season for the Saints. Rattler, who was drafted in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, entered the game completing 56 percent of his passes with just two passing touchdowns and three interceptions on the year.

Rattler and the Saints offense got just four possessions in the first half and punted on two, but took advantage of a double-pass trick play to put points on the board. Rattler found former Raider Foster Moreau for a 30-yard touchdown. The Saints added a field goal as time expired. Rattler ended the first half 11-of-13 for 146 yards.
