The Raiders matched the Bengals for much of the first half, but a touchdown with under a minute to play gave the Silver and Black a seven-point deficit entering halftime.
Here are some first-half takeaways:
Trading Touchdowns
The Raiders, who came out throwing the ball, used a defensive pass interference penalty and completions to Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers to move the ball into Bengals territory. The offense then finished off the opening drive with six consecutive run plays. Alexander Mattison ran four times for 20 yards, including a three-yard gain on third-and-three to move the chains. Zamir White then found the end zone on a one-yard run for his first touchdown of the season.
The Raiders have now scored a touchdown on their opening drive in four of their last five games.
The Bengals answered right away with a 13-play scoring drive. Joe Burrow went 8-of-8 for 49 yards, including a fourth-down completion to tight end Tanner Hudson to extend the drive. He then found Chase Brown for a one-yard touchdown pass to tie the game.
Back In The Mix
Jakobi Meyers returned last week from a two-game absence and scored a touchdown against the Chiefs. He continued his impact in the first half today in Cincinnati with six catches for 86 yards to lead the Silver and Black. His 86 yards are his most in a game this season.
Numbers to Know
After playing just two offensive snaps last week against Kansas City, White got involved today with six carries for 10 yards and a touchdown. Mattison added six rushes for 28 yards.
Burrow set a new career high with 15 straight completions to start the game before Maxx Crosby deflected a pass near the line of scrimmage to end the streak. The Bengals quarterback finished the half 18-of-21 for 149 yards and two touchdowns. He completed passes to seven different players.
